The Jamiat Ahle Hadees is a Markaz of spreading the call of Qur’an and Sunnah with its proper references. Our purpose is calling towards the Tawheed (Oneness of Allah) and cultivation of Ummah on the sound methodology of Sahabah and understanding of Islam.
The history of the movement of Jamiat Ahle Hadees is as old as the movement of Islamic Dawah. It is the Dawah, the Invitation of Salaf us Saliheen. The Jamiat Ahle Hadees are the conservative Muslims (the Du’aat and senior Shuyookh) who preserve Islam in its original form, working under the single Jamaat and protecting it from personal – self-made opinions, theories and banners of sectarianism. It does not stick to the understanding of only one particular scholar or Imam nor it calls towards groups or sectism, blind following or personality idealising. This momentum follows the last revelation of Allah and the invitation that the Messenger of Allah called the world towards through his Sunnah the Prophetic traditions.
Ahle Hadees exist in every part of the world wherever Muslim population is found. Since its inception it has been serving Islam and Muslims. It is the first Jamat and social organisation in Muslim community that existed prior to every other religious groups in India. They existed in India since the time Muslims came and were established in the country. Today, their estimated population in India is about 25-30 millions. Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith is their representative organisation founded in December, 1906. It has 21 branches at state levels, more than 200 branches at district levels and forty thousand at local levels with millions of its followers all over the country who have contributed in the development of the country.
Their representation in all fields whether it be education, industries, agriculture, politics and defence has been recognized. They worked without any propaganda and are always well taken and eminently appreciated.
The Jamiat always upholds the Sunnah traditions of the Prophet, Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) with regards to moderate Islam. We stick to his command when he said- Beware, extremism shall perish, extremism shall perish, extremism shall perish.
Even before the tragic 9/11 incident took place, the Ahle Hadees across the world including the Gulf nations and India, had issues fatawa (rulings) against extremism and terrorism. Exclusive seminars were held by Jamiat Ahe Hadees in major cities and towns of India to denounce terrorism. Booklets, friday sermons, official Fatwas in local gatherings in print and audio formats were widely circulated to caution the youth of the community.
World renowned Ahle Hadees scholars of Saudi, Shaikh Ibn Baaz, Shaikh Uthaimeen and Shaikh Nasiruddin Al Albani Rahimuhumulah were very vocal and clear against any extremism and killing of innocent people in the name of religion.
Ahle Hadees or Salafis were in the forefront to fight the British rule. They had a major contribution in the struggle of independence and up to now very few people know this history. There had always been a threat of their well-established peaceful movement that many times in history; salafi movement is always maligned by wrong titling of wahhabism; to halt and weaken their strength of amity and unity.
Maulana Abdullah of Andaman and Maualana Walayat Ali Sadiqpuri of Azeemabad were great freedom fighters from the Salafi ideological lineage. “The Wahabi (Salafi) movement gave a number of towering personalities to the nation. Shah Ismail, Syed Ahmad, Wilayat Ali, Inayat Ali, Mian Syed Nazir Hussain, Nawab Siddique Hasan Khan of Bhopal, Mualana Sanaullah Amritsari and Abul Kalam Azad formed a galaxy that wrote the brightest chapter of our freedom struggle. The first commander of the patriot warriors of the pioneer movement was the great Wahabi (Ahle Hadees) leader Shah Ismail Shaheed and when the movement reached its point of culmination, it was again a great Wahabi (Ahle Hadees) leader (Abul Kalam Azad) who negotiated the transfer of power with the British.”
